Rio Mesa's unofficial motto -Once a Spartan...Always a Spartan- never rings truer than on Homecoming night. So, faithful alumni, if you're anywhere near Elmont Michaelson Stadium on Friday, September 22, heed the call, return to your roots, and cheer your alma mater on to victory vs. visiting Cleveland High, an LA City Section school from Reseda.
And...not all the fireworks will happen at halftime during the crowning of the Homecoming Court! The Spartans, under the direction of Head Coach Jim Bittner, are currently undefeated and ranked #1 in the CIF-SS Division 8 polls. The explosive offense, led by senior quarterback Austin Maciel, is a threat to score both on the ground and through the air, and a stalwart defense has smothered opponents all season long.
The entire evening promises to be filled with excitement, pageantry and extraordinary athleticism, not to mention the best tri-tip sandwiches you'll find anywhere!
